Kilmacanogue 1-12, St. Patrick’s 1-9
Kilmacanogue staged a stunning second half fightback to overturn an eight point half time deficit and get their championship campaign off to a wonderful winning start writes Daniel Gorman.
The Sugarloaf men trailed by an astonishing eight points at the break after conjuring up a measly three points in comparison to the Wicklow Town side’s 1-8.
But the old expression that it’s a game of two halves rang true in the second period when the Fitzsimon’s Park side turned the game on its head, tearing into their opposition and restricting them to a single paltry point in the final 30 minutes.
Kilmacanogue on the other hand couldn’t stop scoring as they ran in a goal and nine points in the second half.
